0:00:00Do you have a heart for people and a desire to make a difference at Empowered Services? Our goal is to inspire, support, and provide opportunities to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you would do everything from teaching someone how to tie their shoelaces to working with someone on learning how to ride the bus. You would support our customers by developing their current life skills, teaching them new skills, and helping them gain as much independence as possible.
0:00:30Does this sound like you? Working with Empowered Services is likely the most fulfilling job you’ll ever have. If you’re looking for a full or part-time position that pays well, has flexible hours, paid training, a retirement fund, and more, go to empowered-services.org to apply. Don’t forget that dash — it’s empowered-services.org. Certain stipulations like having a car and passing a background check are required.

Where can I find resources for the current month?
The two cards in Featured this month are auto-updated each month. The first is the current-month IDD Resources roundup — events, programs, and supports curated statewide for Oregon’s IDD community. The second is the current-month Newsletter. Both pull from across the Oregon IDD community, not just Empowered Services. If a current month hasn’t been published yet, the featured pair shows the most recent of each type until it goes live.
How can I get these resources in my hands each month?

What kind of resources are on this page?
Monthly statewide IDD resource roundups, newsletters, Oregon service guidance, caregiver-choice topics, DSP work information, county-focused supports, and practical next steps. Content is curated for the Oregon IDD community as a whole — including events, programs, and supports from many Oregon organizations, not only Empowered Services.
Do these resources only cover the Empowered Services service area?
No — both formats serve the IDD community throughout Oregon, not just our service area. Our monthly IDD resources curate events and resources for the IDD community throughout Oregon, including Empowered Services hosted events. Our monthly newsletters are jam-packed with educational, insightful articles, events, and resources for the IDD community throughout Oregon — and each newsletter can be downloaded and printed to share. Some posts highlight specific counties (Multnomah, Washington, Yamhill, Lane, and others), and the “Refine results” panel includes an Oregon county filter so you can narrow the archive by county.
Do I need to read resources before starting services?
No. Resources are here to reduce overwhelm, not create homework. Families can go directly to Customer Intake, and a Care Coordinator can help clarify eligibility, county availability, support goals, and the right next step.
Can referral partners share these resources?
Yes. The hub is designed for families, Services Coordinators, Personal Agents, schools, hospitals, community partners, DSP candidates, and caregiver networks — anyone supporting Oregon’s IDD community.
What if I do not see the topic I need?
Use the search bar, open Refine results to filter by topic, audience, or county, browse the full archive, or contact Empowered Services for warm routing help.
