Fall Fun at Frog Pond Pumpkin Patch

Join us for a day of fall fun at Frog Pond Pumpkin Patch in Wilsonville! This event offers something for everyone, from kids to adults. Explore the 10-acre farm packed with exciting activities, games, and playgrounds. Get ready to bounce in the Bounce Park, meet and feed over 80 friendly animals—including camels, emus, goats, and llamas—and enjoy a perfect day out in the crisp fall air.
Feel free to bring your own lunch and money for the store. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable autumn experience for the whole family!

Events and Resources for Clackamas and Multnomah Counties
As the new school year kicks off, we are excited to share several resources and events to support individuals and families in our community. Empowered Services is proud to collaborate with local partners to offer a wide range of opportunities, from educational training to recreational activities, to help our clients and their families thrive. Below are some upcoming events and resources available in Clackamas and Multnomah counties.

Upcoming Training Events by FACT Oregon:
1. Financial Empowerment for Youth and Parents
A 6-session series that helps youth with disabilities and their parents understand money management and make informed decisions. This class starts soon, so register today!
2. Transition to Adulthood: Healthcare and IEP
Prepare for your child’s transition to adulthood by learning about healthcare options and Individualized Education Plans (IEP). This workshop will guide you through important considerations for future planning.
3. Parent Panel: Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Join us to hear from parents whose children use AAC devices to communicate. Learn how to support your child’s communication journey and explore the benefits of AAC.
4. Introduction to Disability and Special Education
This comprehensive training (offered in November) will provide insights into disability rights, special education laws, and how to navigate IEP meetings effectively.

Game Plan for Next Conference
Saturday, September 28th | 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM | HBC Event Center, Lake Oswego
Join us at this important conference designed for parents of teens with disabilities. Learn about employment options, living opportunities, Social Security Income, college options, guardianship, and special needs trusts. Connect with other parents and expert speakers who will share valuable tools and strategies to support your child’s future. Registration ends September 13th.
Cost: $97 (includes lunch and materials); may be covered through your child’s service plan. Contact us for details.

Recreational Activities:
1. Speak and Be Heard Theatre Class
Starting this Saturday, this fun acting class allows children to explore the world of theatre. Participants will create costumes, build sets, and perform a short play at the end of the term. Don’t miss this chance for creative expression and confidence-building! Register Here.
2. Fitness Without Limits
Empowered Services sponsors “Fitness Without Limits,” a mixed martial arts class offered every Tuesday and Thursday for individuals aged 16 and up. Improve your physical fitness in a fun, inclusive environment. Learn more and register at Grit MMA.
3. Fiesta Latina en el Parque
Saturday, September 14th | 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM | North Clackamas Park
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with food, live music, kids’ activities, artisan vendors, games, and dance instruction. This free event is perfect for the whole family! Event Details.
4. Molalla Train Park
Open Sundays from May through October, this charming park offers free train rides on a beautiful 4-acre site. The perfect weekend outing for all ages, with a picnic area and concession stand available. Donations appreciated! Learn More.

Join us at the Game Plan for Next Conference 2024, a one-day event designed to provide you with the tools, resources, and guidance to plan your child’s successful transition into adulthood. From education and employment options to guardianship and financial planning, this conference will equip you with everything you need to confidently guide your teen into the next phase of life.

- Living Opportunities: Discover various living arrangements and supports tailored to individuals with disabilities.
