Caroling Bus and Lunch

DSNO members of all ages are invited to join us for caroling followed by a pizza lunch! Come dressed in your festive holiday attire (green, red, holiday sweaters/dresses, Santa hats, reindeer headbands, etc.) and be prepared to sing Christmas carols at multiple stops in Wilsonville and Lake Oswego. Bus capacity 60 participants so be sure to register early.

OMSI on ICE
This holiday season, Portland’s iconic Oregon Museum of Science and Industry brings you OMSI on Ice indoor skating. OMSI On Ice transforms the museum’s auditorium into a dazzling winter wonderland featuring a unique synthetic ice rink, offering all the fun of traditional skating without the chill.
Rink admission includes free skate rentals and a 30-minute time slot at the rink including checking out and checking in skates. Personal skates are allowed with the exception of hockey or figure skates; see more information in the FAQ’s below. Participants must sign a liability waiver before skating. Admission: $10 Adults (14+), $8 Seniors (63+), $6 Youth (3-13), 2 and under free |  OMSI members free

Your ticket includes access to OMSI’s feature exhibit Monsters of the Abyss, the turbine hall, and Science Playground for ages 0-6, including storytime at 6:30pm.

What To Expect:

Less people: We will cap this event at ~400 tickets.
First Floor: The exhibit is on the first floor only and contains fossil dig pit hands on exploration, live reptiles and amphibian in enclosures, large-scale aquatic predator cast skeletons, thematic music and lighting.
Lower Lighting: The available areas will have adjusted lighting options to be lower than normal.
Quiet Room: We have a quite room available in Science Playground.
Less sound: Exhibit audio track will be turned off or down.
Sensory kits available at the front desk, which include headphones and a fidget toy.
OMSI’s restaurant and cafe will be closed.

 

Every Body Athletics’ mission is to make a lasting impact on the physical, social, and emotional well-being of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) through inclusive group exercise.

EBA runs in-person classes in the Greater Portland area and online classes via Zoom! EBA serves adults who have aged out of special education (21 and over) who come from day programs, supported living settings, or those still living with their parents/guardians. Designed by staff with Master’s degrees in Special Education, Doctoral degrees in Occupational Therapy, and dual certifications in Personal Training and Special Populations Personal Training, each weekly EBA class provides specialized, adaptive exercises that focus on participants’ specific physical needs while inserting time for social practice along the way. Classes include a 1:1-2 ratio of teammates without disabilities to promote inclusion and increased participation.

With options to practice movement and make friends, this is a great play opportunity for kids of all abilities.

Play is self-led and adult supervision is required. At least one adult/guardian must remain present at all times.

At Regal Hilltop in Oregon City

Christmas on the Campground brings a traditional light display and special holiday event to Portland every year. The event illustrates a Merry Christmas with a life-size nativity, thousands of lights and the tallest decorated Christmas tree in Southeast Portland.

This event is once again opening its gates for a few nights of special activities. Additional Information

On December 13 and 14, the gates are open from 5 to 8 p.m. All activities end at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Here are the activities you can enjoy:

  • Take a train ride through the campground light displays.
  • Make new furry friends at the petting zoo.
  • Listen to festive music and snack on treats while basking in the glow of the 50-foot-tall Christmas tree.
  • Watch the live nativity pageant at 6 and 7 p.m. each evening presented by Apostolic Faith Church’s Sunday school students.
